About Medical Device Park

The Government of Uttar Pradesh (“GoUP”) has envisaged development of a Medical Device Park at Sector 28, YEIDA. Recognizing the growth potential of the healthcare market in India, the government has launched initiatives such as Make in India campaign, special incentives for setting-up manufacturing plants at medical device parks, and fast clearance and approvals, to promote the conducive investment environment and boost FDI in medical devices through greenfield, brownfield, and strategic entry options. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has been nominated as State Implementing Agency for the project of Uttar Pradesh Medical Device Park

Government of Uttar Pradesh has initiated work towards development of dedicated Medical Device Manufacturing Park in YEIDA region. This park will be North India’s first dedicated medical device park, which will be spread over 350 acres. Under the banner of the Uttar Pradesh Medical Device Park, the park is conceptualized to address to the key concerns of Indian manufacturers which primarily include access to cost effective testing and scientific facilities. This park will help reduce the cost of manufacturing, making indigenous manufacturers more competitive and enhance the quality of Indian products.

Current Status

  • In-principle approval received from the Government of India on 24th September 2021 under the scheme – “Promotion of Medical Device Park” for the development of Medical device Park in YEIDA region
  • In-principle approval received on 4th January 2022 from the Government of India for the Detailed Project report submitted by YEIDA, for the development of Medical device Park in YEIDA region
  • YEIDA has been nominated as the State Implementation Agency by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizers, Government of India for the development of Medical Device Park (MDP) in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Development of Medical Device Park spread across 350 acres is proposed in Sector 28 of YEIDA region.
  • Detailed Project Report submitted by YEIDA for the development of MDP has been approved by the GoI.
  • Grant-in Aid of INR 30 Cr has been received from the Central Government under the scheme Promotion of Medical Devices Park.
  • Works related to external development has been completed.
    Works related to internal development of the Park – roads, drainage, sewerage etc are in Progress.
  • 37 plots have been allotted, under the target segment, under Scheme for allotment of plots under Phase 1 of the MDP
